Jace Nielsen
Jace Nielsen is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance. Although his focus was in theatre, Jace followed his passion of performance in college through much more than the stage; Jace performed in the drumline for the marching band as Drum Captain and percussion section leader, worked on many student short films as well as directing his own film, was the captain of the UCM improv team - Shenanigans, and hosted many events as the role of the Emcee.
On stage, Jace has performed and worked on many shows with the University of Central Missouri during his time in school. Among these shows, his top 3 favorite shows he performed in (in no particular order) include: Elf: the Musical (Buddy the Elf), by Chad Beguelin and Thomas Meehan, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Dr. Caius), by William Shakespeare, and Stop Kiss (George), by Diana Son.
During his time in the theatre program at the University of Central Missouri, Jace held many leadership roles within the division of theatre and dance. Among these roles, Jace was the President/Captain of the improv team - teaching the skills of improvisation to varying levels of performers. Another role he held was as the Representative for the BA/BFA Performance Majors in the Student Advisory Committee to the Chair of the Division (BA Representative his Sophomore year and BFA Representative Junior and Senior year).
Likewise, Jace received many awards and recognitions throughout his time at UCM. From the New Theater and Restaurant, Jace received one of their highest scholarships - the Dennis D. Hennessey and Richard Carothers Scholarship (The founders of the New Theater and Restaurant). Similarly, Jace was nominated for his performances at UCM to compete for the KCACTF Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship two times. One of these times, Jace made it to the final round. Some season recognitions Jace received for his acting during his time at UCM include: "Outstanding Musical Performance" for his role as Buddy the Elf, "Best Supporting Actor" and "Hard Acting Award" for his role as Dr. Caius, and "Best Actor in Studios" for his role as Ed Glandis in The Button Pushers. Jace finished out his college career receiving the recognition for "Outstanding Undergraduate" for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
Upon graduating, Jace became a creative team member with the theatre company: SMET Theatrics, where he has also performed in and supported numerous theatrical productions. Jace also serves as one of the founding creative team members of Fabled Fox Theatrics.
